What could cause an employee to quit on the spot? These people had some really good reasons, and a lot of them timed their exits perfectly

Having a job that you dislike can weigh a person down more than they realize. Of course there's more to life than work… but most of us work at least 40 hours every week, if not more, meaning that we spend more time with our coworkers than our own families. 

Many workers stay at their jobs because the pay is good, or the bonus structure rewards their hard work, or they love their coworkers. But over time, having a bad boss or a toxic work environment makes these employees start questioning how much longer they can handle being at that same job.

  • This job sounds just awful

    Ro... Worked for a security company as a site supervisor. Got saddled with 2 people who would constantly call out, show up late, leave early. I had to cover any shifts they missed, unless I could get the overnight guard to come in early or on his off day.

    Who would want to work under these conditions? Good for this person for quitting before they really did serious damage to their health. 

  • The ops manager wouldn't fire these girls for some reason. Wouldn't get me more help. So for 6 months I was working 90 to 120 hours a week, pulling 56 hour shifts at times. I literally had a cot setup to sleep on in the guard shack because I never knew when I'd get to go home.
